| Visit Clarksville for our annual celebration of art and sunflowers. Come and see painters work live as they capture the beauty of our architecturally rich downtown historic district, the amazing river landscape or...the favorite... SUNFLOWERS! Clarksville visitors will enjoy shopping in the local artists shops, watching the painters work and voting for their favorite painting on Sunday. Enjoy our beautiful town, the sunflowers, shopping, an iced coffee or lunch, take pictures of our town and please stay over for the judging! Artists will check in and have their blank canvases signed starting at 9 a.m. on Friday the 29th at our local coffee house COOL BEANS and then have the weekend to paint, with all work to be submitted by noon on Sunday the 31st. Entrance fees are $25 per entry for those age 20 and above, with CASH PRIZES of $500 for 1st Place, $250 for 2d, $100 for 3d and a special People's Choice award (it's a surprise). Entrance fees for student work (19 and under) are $10 per entry, with a prize of a $50 Gift Certificate to Art Mart, voted St. Louis area's best local art store. We know that outdoor painting is thirsty work, so beverages will be provided for working artists, as will lunch on Saturday. An artist only reception will be held at COOL BEANS from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday evening. Judging will be done from 12 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, during which the public is welcome to enjoy the artwork and refreshments and vote for their favorite painting.
